To simplify project planning and calculation, this functionality supports the creation of resource pools. The employees are pooled on the basis of their ability to perform particular tasks. Multi-assignment allows distributing the employee's total capacity to different resource pools.

A resource pool includes all the employees who have the same skills. The planning capacity of individual resource pools results from the capacities assigned to the employees.

In addition to the direct planning of employees, resource pool planning is possible. Planning data can be transferred from a resource pool to one or more employees during the course of a project.

Many reports assist the resource pool manager in his daily work. Resource Pool Reports include:

Planning Summary - shows the total number of planned project hours for the selected resource pool

Team Summary - shows the planning data assigned to the pool and other project planning data of the employees assigned to the resource pool

Used Pool Resources - shows the ratio of planned project hours per pool to total pool capacity

It depends on the basic settings whether a project manager is able to directly plan employees. He can ask for a resource that has to be confirmed by the resource pool manager.
